Need help to quit smoking? Check out these helpful tips:
- Make a choice to quit smoking or using tobacco.
- Call the AmeriHealth Caritas Pennsylvania Member Services department to find out how we can help you quit.
- Get ready for the day that you plan to quit.
- Wait a few minutes before you smoke a cigarette because the craving may pass.
- Take five deep breaths and relax for a few minutes.
- Practice going without a few of your cigarettes each day before you stop for good.
- Drink water because it may distract you. It also helps to flush the poisons out of the body.
- Do something else to take your mind off smoking.
Remember, most people try to quit 3 or more times before they quit for good.
